Introduction to Mental Health RTW

Type: Half-day Workshop.

Audience: Employees of all levels.


Any industries including manufacturing, government, education, healthcare, engineering & sciences, technology, not-for-profit, financial (banking and insurance)


This interactive workshop is a useful tool to reduce stigma and facilitate empathy and collaboration around workplace mental health absences. The workshop uses games and activities to create a safe and fun environment to introduce basic concepts, dispel myths, and help employees know how to support colleagues through work absence and RTW. This workshop will equip all employees with an appreciation of the importance of work and of staying connected through mental health challenges.

What will you learn?

  • Understand the meaning of work, what happens when mental health interferes with work, and the importance of staying connected through mental health challenges.
  • Describe 3 reasons why mental health RTW requires a different approach than physical health RTW.
  • Identify boundaries of personal privacy and know how to appropriately show support to a colleague through mental health challenges.
  • Explore the various stakeholder needs surrounding mental health RTW and learn how to respond accordingly.
